Paul Chan, the Financial Secretary, says that Hong Kong will see a number of major events this year.
Writing on social media after attending the Chinese New Year Cup football match at Hong Kong Stadium on Saturday night (Feb. 1), Chan praised both sides.
Chan said the Hong Kong Legends and World Legends teams had delivered entertaining games, featuring impressive goals.
The match was drawn 3-3 at full time, but the World Legends won a penalty shoot-out 6-5.
He praised the lively atmosphere at the stadium, where around 20,000 fans turned up for the game.
Chan said the game - featuring top international players and local soccer stars - was the perfect way for local and visiting soccer fans to celebrate the Chinese New Year holiday.
