
Kai Tak Sports Park will hold a large-scale drill on Feb. 4.
Today (Feb. 2) in a press conference, a spokesman introduced, this exercise for a sports event, the drill is divided into three phases, there will be 50,000 people to participate in the exercise, in the exercise of the exit phase, there will be 48,000 people naturally leave, the remaining 2,000 will be coordinated with the simulation of a fire incident, the process will be voice instructions, so that the exercise participants are psychologically prepared.
In addition, the drill will open the canopy of the main arena for the first time, and the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) will monitor the volume level to avoid affecting the residents in the vicinity.
Staff reminded that on the day of the drill, private car parks and loading/unloading points will be closed at 5 pm on the test day, and that private car parks will also be closed in the event of large-scale activities in the Park in the future, and urged members of the public to use public transportation.
As for the transportation arrangement, a related spokesperson introduced that the bus and cab loading/unloading area at Sung Wong Toi would be opened between 5 pm and 12 pm on that day. On that day, the Transport Department (TD) would disseminate a message to the cab trade informing them of the number of people waiting on the spot and appealing to cabs to come to the venue to help. Special bus services will be arranged near Sung Wong Toi Station during the end of the event, and outsourced staff will be on site to help guide spectators to board the buses.
MTR staff added that during the exercise, the frequency of the Tuen Ma Line would be increased to a level similar to that of the morning peak hour, and "empty trains" would be arranged to pick up passengers at Kai Tak and Sung Wong Toi Stations on a need basis. The frequency of trains on the Kwun Tong Line will be suitably enhanced during the evening departure period. In addition, special access arrangements will be made at Kai Tak and Sung Wong Toi Stations. Exits C and D of Kai Tak Station will be used for entry only and Exit A for exit only; Exit D of Sung Wong Toi Station will be used for entry only, while other entrances and exits will operate normally.

In the days leading up to the official opening of the Kai Tak Sports Park, the spokesperson introduced that there will also be a large-scale exercise on Feb. 16, and the number of people will also reach 50,000 in size. In addition, the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2025 will be held on Feb. 9, the runner's packs will be distributed at Kai Tak Sports Park instead of Victoria Park, from Feb. 5 to 8, runners can collect their packs at the venue according to the booked time slots.
