Effective Jan. 24, the government has opened a specified road section within the frontier closed area (FCA) near Lin Ma Hang Village in Sha Tau Kok.
This change exempts passengers traveling by green minibus from needing a closed area permit, facilitating access for the public and tourists to Lin Ma Hang Village and Robin's Nest Country Park.
A Security Bureau spokesman stated that Robin's Nest Country Park was established in November last year. Following public feedback and a feasibility study, the government decided to implement this special arrangement.
According to the Hong Kong Police Force's Gazette, the permit requirement is waived for individuals traveling to and from Lin Ma Hang Village via green minibus No. 59K (Sheung Shui Station - Lin Ma Hang). Passengers can visit attractions like MacIntosh Forts and Lin Ma Hang Lead Mine using the Lin Ma Hang Country Trail and continue toward Sha Tau Kok via the Robin's Nest Country Trail.
The spokesman expressed hope that this measure will enhance visits to Robin's Nest Country Park, allowing the public to enjoy Hong Kong's geological features and historical heritage. The exemption applies only to those using green minibuses and does not cover private vehicles, taxis, or pedestrians without valid permits.

Additionally, there are alternative transport options, including New Territories green minibus No. 55K and KMB buses No. 78K and 277A, which can take visitors to the Tam Shui Hang stop on Sha Tau Kok Road. Public transport operators will monitor demand and adjust services as needed.
