Photos | Sichuan panda cubs send New Year greetings and blessings to people worldwide
On Jan. 23, the Giant Panda National Conservation and Research Center held events to celebrate the Spring Festival. Organized by the China Giant Panda Protection Research Center and the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, the event featured 25 panda cubs born in 2024, who greeted the world through screens, sending New Year wishes.
The theme focused on a "Spring Festival Garden Party," incorporating traditional Chinese elements and non-material cultural heritage. At the Wolong Giant Panda Reserve, 13 cubs explored a venue decorated with festive foods and decorations, while 12 cubs appeared at the panda base among celebratory backdrops.
This collective debut showcased the cubs' diverse personalities, with some curious and lively, and others shyly wandering on stage. The event symbolized hopes for coexistence between pandas and humans and highlighted the richness of traditional Chinese culture.
