Cathay Pacific system outage: website and app unable to process check-ins and ticket purchases
Cathay Pacific's online system appears to be experiencing issues, as of this morning (Jan. 23), preventing customers from purchasing tickets and checking in online, as well as from updating their booking information.
In tests conducted by reporters, attempts to book flights on the Cathay Pacific website and mobile app resulted in messages stating, "Updating locale information." When trying to use the app for ticket booking, the webpage also displayed a system error, and could not log in.
Besides, the self-service check-in kiosks near the Cathay Pacific counters (Sections A, B and C) at Terminal 1 of Hong Kong International Airport are currently unavailable, and the screen will display "Currently Closed".
