Starting from the Spring Festival in 2025, small passenger vehicles will be exempt from toll fees when using highways in mainland China, including the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB).
The "Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge" official WeChat account announced today (Jan. 22) that the bridge will waive tolls for vehicles with seven seats or fewer during the Spring Festival holiday. The specific free period will be from Jan. 28, 2025 (New Year's Eve) at 12 am to Feb. 4 (the seventh day of the New Year) at 11:59 pm, totaling eight days. Eligible small passenger vehicles can enjoy this toll exemption through electronic toll collection lanes (National Standard ETC and Hong Kong Octopus users) or manual toll collection lanes.
Officials expect significant traffic flow on the bridge during certain peak times: from Jan. 30 (the second day of the New Year) to February 1 (the fourth day of the New Year) from 9 am to 3 pm heading west (towards Zhuhai/Macao), and from Jan. 31 (the third day of the New Year) to Feb. 2 (the fifth day of the New Year) from 3 pm to 11:59 pm heading east (towards Hong Kong). Travelers are advised to plan their trips accordingly and consider traveling during off-peak hours.
Additionally, drivers can check real-time border crossing conditions through the "Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge" WeChat account.
