According to CCTV News, the Shenzhen General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection announced today (Jan. 22), that to facilitate personnel movement in and out of the Sha Tau Kok, an online application channel for the one-time valid Closed Area Permits has been approved by the National Immigration Administration.
Since last year, the number of visitors to Chung Ying Street has been steadily increasing due to extended passage times and improved quality. To ensure a smooth and quick experience for tourists, the General Station has upgraded the permit system and optimized the application process. Starting Jan. 26, 2025, mainland residents can apply for the pass through the WeChat mini-program. They can enter and exit Sha Tau Kok with a valid resident ID, without needing a paper document.
Additionally, to facilitate family and group travel, users can submit up to 10 applications per day, with a maximum of 5 people per application. Residents can also visit the Sha Tau Kok permit center for on-site applications, and individuals aged 60 and above can use an intelligent terminal for quick applications.
