Trump announces US$500 bn investment from three companies for AI infrastructure development
On Jan. 21 (US time), U.S. President Donald Trump announced at the White House that the United States will open an artificial intelligence research center. OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle will jointly invest US$500 billion to promote AI infrastructure development in the U.S.
Trump stated that the three companies have collaborated on a "Stargate" project, which will establish the physical and virtual infrastructure necessary for the next generation of AI, including data centers distributed across the country. He described it as the largest AI infrastructure project in history.
Larry Ellison, founder of Oracle, revealed that the first data center project has already begun construction in Texas.
