US President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday (Jan. 20) that will let the US withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO).
Trump had previously initiated the US withdrawal from the WHO during his first term, arguing that the organization failed to meet the necessary reforms demanded by the US. However, this decision was reversed by the Biden administration upon taking office.
With Trump returning to the presidency, his team had already hinted during the transition period that plans to exit the WHO would be revisited.
