Watch This | 'Why aren't you in the Hague?': Journalists confront Blinken over Gaza deaths

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken held his final press conference on January 16, highlighting the Biden administration's role in brokering a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas over the Gaza Strip. However, the event took a dramatic turn when two journalists interrupted, questioning U.S. policies on Gaza and leaving Blinken visibly uncomfortable.

"Why did you keep the bombs flowing when we had a deal in May?" Max Blumenthal, editor of the Grayzone, an outlet that strongly criticizes many aspects of U.S. foreign policy, called out to Blinken before being escorted out.

"Criminal! Why aren't you in The Hague," shouted Sam Husseini, an independent journalist and longtime critic of Washington's approach to the world. The Hague is where the International Criminal Court is located.

The interruptions underscored mounting criticism of U.S. foreign policy in Gaza as the Biden administration faces accusations of enabling Israeli military actions. According to the latest data released by Gaza's health ministry, Israeli military operations have resulted in the deaths of over 46,000 Palestinians. The U.S. has been widely criticized for providing weapons and diplomatic support to Israel.
