BOC HK new banknotes exchange: Successful start with 50% year-on-year increase in online bookings

Most Bank of China (BOC) branches in Hong Kong are offering new notes and good-as-new notes services to the public from today (Jan. 14) to Jan. 28, and the branches operated smoothly and in good order.

A staff of BOC Hong Kong said that the number of online bookings made by BOC Hong Kong this year has increased by more than 20% compared to last year, and the number of online bookings for good-as-new notes has also increased by nearly 50% compared to last year, which demonstrates that the public is in support of environmental protection.

Due to the overwhelming response from the public, the online booking quota has been fully utilized.

She added that BOC Hong Kong will open for business one hour earlier at 8:00 a.m. for three consecutive days from today to Jan. 16, and will set up a dedicated counter for the new banknotes as well as a registration system for the distribution of new banknotes and arrange for special manpower to provide dedicated banknote exchange services.

In addition, the Bank will launch a series of popular panda-themed eLaisees in conjunction with Ocean Park, which allows customers to send out 10 packets at a time.
