1-minute News | Mainland girl suspected to have been kidnapped by local gang in Thailand

After mainland actor Wang Xing was rescued from a scam in Myanmar, a reporter from Ta Kung Pao rushed to the Thai-Myanmar border to capture a video of the world's largest Myanmar scam camp up close. This video sparked a lot of discussion and attention on various social media platforms.

Several netizens reached out to Ta Kung Pao's social media accounts for help and tips, including a plea to find a woman surnamed Du who went missing during her trip to Thailand. Du's family posted a missing person notice on social media, appealing for help. Du's sister contacted a Ta Kung Pao reporter, provided relevant clues, and appealed for help, hoping her sister could escape as Wang Xing did.

Du's sister provided her sister's appearance information to the Ta Kung Pao reporter: Du, 22 years old, 175cm tall, weighing 45 to 50 kg, with a tall and thin build.

According to Du's sister, Du departed from Wuhan Tianhe International Airport on Dec. 23, flying to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand. At 6:00 pm on Dec. 24, she took a car arranged by a friend, intending to visit the Umphang Buri Resort, but found the car doors locked, preventing her from getting out. During the journey, the vehicle was changed.

At 1:41 am on Dec. 25, a dispute broke out between two people in the car. Several cars approached during the argument, with two cars colliding and five more following behind. From 6:00 pm on Dec. 24 to 2:00 am on Dec. 25, the two sisters remained in contact. However, Du lost contact thereafter.

Du's sister provided a recording of a conversation her sister had with a friend after boarding the second car, capturing a portion of the conversation. In the recording, emotional voices can be heard, with Chinese phrases like "Don't catch me," "I'll give you 100,000 RMB," and "US$100,000," and a lengthy conversation in what appears to be Thai, including phrases like "Stop! Stop! Let go of my clothes! Speak nicely, open the door!" Another person is heard saying, "Hit! Hit! Hit the head! Get the rope! Someone quickly gets a knife! Tie them up with the rope!"
