31,000,000+! China's automobile production and sales have surpassed 31 mn in 2024

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers released its latest data today (Jan. 13) that in 2024, China's automobile production and sales have surpassed 31 million, hitting a record-high number. Notably, the production and sales of new-energy vehicles exceeded 12 million, maintaining the world's top position for ten consecutive years.

According to the latest data, in 2024, China's automobile production and sales volume reached 31,282,000 and 31,436,000, registering year-on-year growth rates of 3.7% and 4.5% respectively. This is proof of China maintaining the world's largest exporter.

The latest data also shows that in 2024, China's new energy vehicle production and sales volume reached respectively 12,888,000 and 12,866,000, registering year-on-year growth rates of 34.4% and 35.5%. The new energy vehicle, whose sales occupy 40.9% of China's total automobile sales, remains China's automobile industry's key growth area. Meanwhile, China exported 1.284 million new energy vehicles, marking a year-on-year increase of 6.7%, showing leading performance throughout the world.
