Fire breaks out outside primary school in Kwai Chung, students affected
A fire occurred outside a primary school today (Jan. 9) around 12 pm, igniting a pushcart outside St. John's Catholic Primary School in Shek Lei. The blaze was intense, and thick smoke affected the school campus, causing approximately 18 students to feel unwell.
Rescue personnel and firefighters were dispatched to the scene promptly. The affected students were taken to Yan Chai Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital for medical examination. The fire was subsequently extinguished, and firefighters are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
Authorities have classified the case as arson. The police are conducting an inquiry into the matter to determine the circumstances surrounding the fire. This incident raises concerns about safety measures in school areas and the need for vigilance against potential fire hazards.
