According to CCTV News, on Jan. 8, U.S. Capitol Police intercepted and arrested a man attempting to bring a machete into the Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C.
Washington police stated that security checks on the north side of the Capitol Visitor Center have been halted to investigate the incident. The unidentified man has been arrested and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon.
Additionally, reports indicate that in a few hours, President-elect Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with Senate Republicans on Capitol Hill.
