The Immigration Department (ImmD) has conducted territory-wide anti-illegal worker operations, codenamed "Contribute," from Dec. 30, 2024, to Jan. 7, 2025.
During these operations, officers raided 88 locations, including two public housing estates, resulting in the arrest of 26 suspected illegal workers and three employers.

In addition to enforcement, ImmD officials distributed "Don't Employ Illegal Workers" leaflets to raise awareness in the community. A spokesperson emphasized that employing undocumented individuals can lead to serious legal consequences, including fines of up to HK$500,000 and ten years imprisonment.
The ImmD also conducts screenings for vulnerable individuals, such as illegal workers, to identify potential victims of trafficking in persons (TIP). Those identified as TIP victims will receive support services, including medical care and temporary accommodation.
The department urges anyone with information on illegal employment or TIP to report it to the authorities.
