US targets Chinese enterprises by abusing concept of national security: MOFCOM

The actions of the U.S. seriously disrupt the international economic and trade order, jeopardizing the stability of global industrial and supply chains, the Ministry of Commerce stated. (DotDotNews)

On Jan. 6, the U.S. Department of Defense announced that it has added several Chinese tech giants, including Tencent Holdings and CATL, to its 1260H list. The list also includes chip manufacturer CXMT, Quectel, and Autel Intelligent Tech.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) spokesperson expressed strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to this move today (Jan. 8).

The Ministry of Commerce stated that the U.S. disregards World Trade Organization rules and market principles, continually broadens the concept of national security, abuses state power, baselessly accuses China's "civil-military integration" strategy, and unjustly suppresses Chinese companies under this pretext. The actions of the U.S. seriously disrupt the international economic and trade order, jeopardizing the stability of global industrial and supply chains.

"China urges the U.S. to respect facts and rules, immediately cease its erroneous practices, and provide fair, just, and non-discriminatory treatment to Chinese companies. China will closely monitor the situation and take all necessary measures to resolutely defend the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises."
