HK property sales up in 2024
In 2024, the Land Registry recorded a total of 67,979 sale and purchase agreements for all building units, reflecting a 17.1% increase compared to the previous year and a 14% rise compared with 2022.
The total consideration for these agreements reached HK$534.14 billion, marking an 11.8% year-on-year increase, although it represents a 3.7% decrease compared to 2022.
Conversely, the number of assignments for building units in 2024 was 79,073, which is down 8.5% from the previous year and 8% lower than in 2022. The total consideration for these assignments amounted to HK$485.34 billion, indicating a 17.7% decrease from 2023 and a significant 29.8% drop compared to 2022.
Additionally, there were 4,422,060 land register searches conducted last year.
