The Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration, Cheuk Wing-hing, recently visited various locations in Hong Kong to inspect the use of pressure washer surface cleaner by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department on Harbour Road in Wan Chai and several streets in other districts.

In a post on social media, Cheuk mentioned that he was pleased to observe that, following over two years of implementing the Government Programme on Tackling Hygiene Black Spots, the improved environmental hygiene has been maintained, with the streets cleaner than before.

Cheuk stated that he visited Harbour Road in Wan Chai, where he watched the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department operate the pressure washer surface cleaner to clean the streets. He noticed the immediate effectiveness of the cleaning and even tried using the machine himself.
The Director of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, Ng Man-kit, noted that the machine is currently adopted across various districts based on factors such as pedestrian traffic and cleanliness levels of the streets.
Cheuk mentioned that with the Chinese New Year approaching, he has instructed colleagues at the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department to ensure thorough street cleaning.
