The Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mable Chan, attended the ceremony of the C919 aircraft's inaugural flight, describing the launch of the C919 Hong Kong route as a historic moment.
Chan stated that the C919 is a large civil aircraft independently developed by the country, representing a significant breakthrough in national civil aviation. She hopes that more passengers will experience the C919 and appreciate the advancements in national aviation technology.

Chan emphasized that Hong Kong possesses unique advantages and status under the "one country, two systems" framework and will support the country in shining on the international aviation stage in three ways.
First, regarding aircraft maintenance, Hong Kong has rich experience and a comprehensive support system to fully assist with the maintenance of domestic aircraft both locally and abroad.
Second, the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy is an important training center for aviation talent in Asia, and the academy is considering expanding its training programs to include C919-related fields while planning to enhance training for aircraft maintenance engineers to cultivate more talent and facilitate C919 maintenance.
Third, Hong Kong's financial market has a sound legal system and mature market mechanisms that can assist in the financing of national aircraft.
