CE delivers New Year's message on two major goals for 2025
On January 1, 2025, the Chief Executive, John Lee, delivered a New Year's message on social media platforms.
Lee said that 2024 is a historic year for Hong Kong.
"Hong Kong has completed its constitutional responsibility of enacting local legislation to implement Article 23 of the Basic Law. With the strong support of our country and the unremitting efforts of all sectors, Hong Kong has emerged from the trough of COVID-19, regained its economic vitality, and people's livelihoods have continued to improve."
Lee pointed out that, looking ahead to 2025, the HKSAR government will focus on two major objectives: first, to seek changes through reforms and strengthen internal and external links; and second, to improve people's livelihood and promote harmony and integration.
Lee is confident that all sectors of the community will actively participate in promoting Hong Kong's development.
"As long as we work together, uphold integrity and innovation, and develop together with reforms, the 'Pearl of the Orient' in 2025 will be even more dazzling and colorful."
