Numerous international financial events to be held in HK next year
Christopher Hui Ching-yu, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury published a blog today (Dec. 30) indicating that looking ahead to 2025, more financial events will follow one after another.
By hosting grand events in various fields such as family offices, investment, fintech, and Web3, global attention will continue to focus on Hong Kong's financial sector, continually enhancing Hong Kong's reputation as an international financial center, he said.
He stated that in 2024, Hong Kong will fully showcase its charm as a city of major events, especially in the financial sector. Numerous large-scale international financial events will gather global financial leaders and investment elites in Hong Kong, demonstrating the unique advantages and strong capabilities of Hong Kong to the world.
For instance, the first major event, the Asian Financial Forum 2025, will take place on Jan. 13-14. It will invite over a hundred global political and business leaders and financial experts to analyze the development of financial markets and investment opportunities from multiple perspectives, discussing how Hong Kong can leverage its advantages as an international financial center to seek new growth engines amid changing circumstances.
He pointed out that the potential of Web3 is enormous. One of the largest and most influential conferences in the fields of Web3, blockchain, and digital assets, the "Consensus Hong Kong 2025", hosted by CoinDesk, will be held in February next year, expected to attract over 8,000 attendees. Additionally, in March, the third Wealth for Good in Hong Kong Summit will take place, which showcases that Hong Kong is not only a leading international financial center but also a hub for global family offices.
