According to Xinhua News Agency, Toyota Motor Corporation announced on Dec. 24 that its North American division will donate US$1 million to the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump on Jan. 20. This follows similar announcements from American companies Ford and General Motors, both of which will also contribute US$1 million each.

Reports indicate that Ford and General Motors plan to donate vehicles for the inauguration, while Toyota has stated it will not provide any cars.

Recently, several large corporations and executives have expressed their intention to donate. Amazon, Meta, and Uber have each committed to donating US$1 million, while Robinhood Markets plans to contribute US$2 million. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, and Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, are also set to make personal donations of US$1 million each.

Trump's 2017 inauguration raised a record US$107 million. According to recent reports from ABC News, pledged donations for this year's inauguration have already surpassed US$150 million, potentially setting a new fundraising record.
