On the first day of the Christmas holiday (Dec. 25), the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) saw a significant surge in traffic at the Zhuhai Port of Entry. According to the real-time traffic update shared by the "HZMB Zhuhai Port" WeChat account, as of 3:00 p.m., inbound traffic to Zhuhai reached "extreme peak" conditions. Vehicle queues stretched over 500 meters, with inspection wait times exceeding 40 minutes.
The HZMB management had earlier forecasted heavy traffic flows between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Dec. 25, coinciding with the Christmas holiday rush. By around 3:30 p.m., traffic conditions slightly improved but remained categorized as "busy," with vehicle queues shortening to approximately 300 meters and wait times reduced to about 25 minutes.
