During the Christmas period, the Correctional Services Department has arranged festive activities for inmates.

Today (Dec. 25), Stephen Chow Sau-yan, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner of Correctional Services, Leung Ka-lun, celebrated Christmas Mass at Stanley Prison.

He shared messages of faith and offered Christmas blessings to the inmates in attendance. Cardinal Tong also visited the prison hospital to offer support and comfort to the ill inmates.

On Dec. 19, the Most Revd Andrew Chan of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui held a Christmas service at the Pak Sha Wan Correctional Institution, delivering a sermon and sharing religious messages to spread care and blessings among the inmates.

Inmates who voluntarily wish to participate, regardless of their religious beliefs, can access religious and social services through the department’s chaplains, volunteer chaplains, and representatives from other religious organizations. These services include visits, education, counseling, religious worship, and recreational activities.
