CATL unveils new EV chassis with enhanced safety features
China's CATL, the world's largest electric vehicle battery manufacturer, announced the launch of a new EV chassis on Tuesday (Dec. 24).
The company claims that this chassis can withstand a frontal impact at speeds of 120 kph (75 mph) without catching fire or exploding, highlighting safety as a key selling point.
The new chassis is equipped with a battery that can provide a range of approximately 1,000 km (621.37 miles) on a single charge. Additionally, CATL stated that this innovation significantly reduces the time required for mass production of vehicles, cutting it down to 12-18 months from the traditional timeframe of 36 months or longer.
