Police receive 8 cases related to Jay Chou's concert involving HK$180,000
Police have received 8 cases of fraudulent ticket purchases for Jay Chou's "Carnival World Tour" concert in 5 consecutive days, of which 6 cases were made through Xiaohongshu, resulting in a loss of HK$180,000 in total.
The police said on their social media page that recently Jay Chou's concert tour began to accept priority booking, and then the official posting said that the date of public sale has not yet been officially announced and that the date spreading on the Internet is fake news; there are scammers pretending to "offer" priority tickets and asked to transfer the fees to personal bank accounts.
The police urge the public not to blindly purchase tickets and be taken advantage of by fraudsters.
The police reminded that tickets should be purchased through official sales channels or face-to-face to minimize the risk of being cheated, and if there is any doubt, the transaction should be terminated immediately.
