The official trailer for the classic movie sequel "Karate Kid: Legends" has been released, featuring original star Ralph Macchio alongside Jackie Chan and rising Chinese-American actor Ben Wang.
The original "The Karate Kid" film premiered in 1984, followed by several sequels including "The Karate Kid Part II," "The Karate Kid Part III," and "The Next Karate Kid." Jackie Chan also starred in the 2010 remake "The Karate Kid" alongside Jaden Smith.
Ralph Macchio returned to the spotlight in 2018 with the sequel series "Cobra Kai."
The new installment, titled "Karate Kid: Legends," focuses on Mr. Han (played by Jackie Chan) and his new student, Li Fong (played by Ben Wang), who learns karate from Daniel LaRusso, the character portrayed by Ralph Macchio, in order to win a karate competition.
The trailer indicates that the film will highlight the fusion of Chinese kung fu and karate, which is set to be a major draw.
Wang stands out among thousands of young actors for his proficiency in martial arts, including karate, Wing Chun, and taekwondo.
The movie is expected to be released in the United States on May 30 next year.
