Latest photo gesture trend: Mimicking billionaire gestures for 'infinite wealth'

A recent trend among mainland Chinese netizens has taken the internet by storm, revolving around a unique photo opportunity at Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong. The trend involves mimicking three specific hand gestures that mimic those of Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-shing.

The gestures include clasping both hands together, pointing with the right hand, and lightly waving the left hand. By striking these poses at Victoria Harbour and capturing them in photos, participants humorously claim to unlock 'infinite wealth' and predict future prosperity.

Additionally, a user on the popular social platform Xiaohongshu shared the best spots in Tsim Sha Tsui's Avenue of Stars to capture photos with celebrity handprints and corresponding signs, such as "Mr. Leon Lai - Fortune Comes to Me," "Mr. Stephen Chow - Grasping Wealth," and "Ms. Carol Cheng - Pointing at Future Prosperity."

This online phenomenon has garnered praise from numerous netizens who have replicated the poses and shared their photos online, with comments like "You're the next billionaire," "I'll try this next time," and "Paying tribute to Li Ka-shing!" While some local netizens expressed confusion over the gestures, it was revealed that the images imitating Li Ka-shing were digitally composited and not actually taken at Victoria Harbour.
