The University of Hong Kong (HKU) has been dedicated to creating a smart campus in recent years. To build a high-quality educational network, HKU recently partnered with Huawei International Co., Ltd. to develop a global smart campus network innovation demonstration project, successfully promoting the digital and intelligent transformation of HKU's campus.
The Chief Information Officer and University Librarian, Flora Ng, and Huawei's President of ICT Marketing and Solutions, Jim Bi, recently accepted media interviews.
Entering the digital age, online exams, live classes, lectures, and ceremonies demand higher performance from campus networks. Enhancing students' and teachers' teaching and learning experience is key to smart classrooms.
For the intelligent network upgrade, including improvements in network performance, security, and experience, Huawei's "WiFi7 10 Gbps CloudCampus Solution" helps achieve upgrades in wireless experience, application experience, and operational experience, creating an experience-centered smart campus for HKU to provide quality services for its vast community better.

Ng stated that HKU is actively promoting digital transformation as part of its overall strategy and welcomes collaboration to enhance the digital level of the entire campus. She emphasized the importance of university-enterprise cooperation in advancing industry progress.
In response to a question from a DotDotNews reporter regarding integrating historical buildings with modern technology, she noted that HKU, established in 1911, has a history of 113 years.
She highlighted that combining the two is complementary, and modern technology is crucial for enhancing the functionality of historical buildings, enabling them to serve students and teaching activities better.
Currently, various industries in Hong Kong are facing digital transformation.

Bi stated that Huawei, a large multinational enterprise with nearly 210,000 employees, has a complex network environment. Therefore, its own experience in networking can benefit other industries. Additionally, Huawei is committed to learning from customers across different sectors, emphasizing that customers are often more specialized in their business experiences and scenarios than Huawei. By encouraging customers to raise questions and require solutions continuously, Huawei can keep improving and becoming better.
