Macao will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its return to China on Dec. 20. The whole city of Macao is filled with a festive atmosphere, many shops, art exhibitions, etc. have launched promotional activities, and the celebratory slogans on the streets and alleys all show the joyful atmosphere.
Many Macao residents and mainland tourists have been playing, shopping and visiting, and when interviewed by Hong Kong Wen Wei Po yesterday (Dec. 12), they all said that the festive atmosphere in Macao now is strong, which makes everyone feel joy of the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to China.
Some shopkeepers who opened their stores before the return of Macau to China witnessed the changes after the city's handover, saying that the increase in the number of tourists from the mainland and the growing spending power of the city reflected the growing development of the motherland.
As Macao residents, their lives are getting happier as a result of Macao's return to the motherland.
