According to reports from Japanese media, a magnitude 4.0 earthquake occurred off the eastern coast of Fukushima Prefecture on the morning of Dec. 12, local time, with a focal depth of 50 kilometers.
Several areas in Fukushima Prefecture, including Okuma, Namie, and Naraha, are influenced by the tremor. Among them, Okuma is the location of Units 1 to 4 of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
