The two giant pandas gifted to Hong Kong by the Central Government, "An An" and "Ke Ke", officially met the public last week, attracting many visitors outside their home at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Sichuan Treasures in Ocean Park.

Mr. Paulo Pong Kin-Yee, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ocean Park, stated today (Dec. 10) on a radio program that the past weekend witnessed more than a thousand visitors coming to see the pandas. He also revealed that the pair of twins of "Ying Ying" now weigh over 6 kilograms and are expected to meet the public during the Lunar New Year.

Pong noted that more than a thousand people came to visit them over the weekend, most of whom were local visitors, along with a significant number from mainland China and Southeast Asia.

In response to complaints from some visitors about the short viewing time, Chan explained that the park implemented a ticketing system to avoid overcrowding. He also mentioned that the 10-minute viewing time is not particularly short compared to the arrangements in mainland China.

He added that Ocean Park has set up live broadcasts, streaming "An An" and "Ke Ke" three times a day, which has been well received.

Regarding the local giant panda twins, he said that they are "growing rapidly" and have started teething and that each now weighs over 6 kilograms.
