China's State Council has approved the appointment of new officials to key positions in the HKSAR government, following the nomination and recommendation by Chief Executive John Lee. Mable Chan was appointed Secretary for Transport and Logistics, replacing Lam Sai-hung, and Rosanna Law Shuk-pui was appointed Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, replacing Kevin Yeung Yun-hung.

After the announcement, Kevin Yeung took to social media, expressing gratitude and optimism. He said in the post that he's stepping into a new chapter of life, accompanied by a scenic photo of Victoria Harbour.
When asked about the personnel changes, Lee attributed the reshuffle to the need for stronger leadership to recover lost time and opportunities due to the pandemic and social unrest. He praised the new appointees for their proactive attitudes, leadership skills, and ability to deliver results, expressing confidence in their ability to drive progress for the benefit of citizens.
Yeung's public service career spans over three decades. He joined the government in 1992 as an administrative officer and was promoted to Administrative Officer Staff Grade C in 2004. In 2012, he was appointed Under Secretary for Education, later serving as Secretary for Education from 2017 to 2022. He assumed the role of Secretary for Culture, Sports, and Tourism in July 2022, a post he held until this recent transition.
