CE: Mable Chan, Rosanna Law both have more than 35 years of experience in govt
China's State Council announced on Thursday (Dec. 5) that Mable Chan was appointed Secretary for Transport and Logistics, replacing Lam Sai-hung, and Rosanna Law Shuk-pui was appointed Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, replacing Kevin Yeung Yun-hung.
The Chief Executive, John Lee, met the media today (Dec. 5). The two new Secretaries, Mable Chan and Rosanna Law, appeared with him.
Lee said the appointments and resignations were made by the central government in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Basic Law and in consideration of their nominations and recommendations. He said that Lam and Yeung had worked hard and served the community for many years, and expressed his wish for them to have a smooth and happy life after stepping down from their posts.
Lee added that both Mabel Chan and Rosanna Law have served in the government for more than 35 years and have rich experience in administration and management. He believes that both of them will make good use of their leadership, initiative and sense of reform to serve the people of Hong Kong by being indomitable, courageous, good at what they do, grasping the opportunities and overcoming the challenges.
