Macao now accepts 'Macau Pass-China T-Union' for bus rides, including cards issued in HK and Mainland
Starting today (Dec. 4), Macao's public buses will accept "Macau Pass-China T-Union" cards issued in Hong Kong or the Mainland that feature the "China T-Union" logo, allowing for seamless use across regions.
According to the Macao Transport Bureau, the introduction of the "Macau Pass-China T-Union" aims to accommodate the growing number of residents traveling to Chinese Mainland for work or leisure, as well as the rising influx of visitors from across the country.
To align with this initiative, the Macau Pass Company has launched the new card, which supports nationwide transit. Cardholders can use the card for public transportation, including buses and light rail, enjoying the existing fare discounts in Macao while also accessing public transportation in over 300 cities across China.
While Hong Kong- and Mainland-issued cards are now accepted on Macao's public buses, only the Macao-issued China T-Union cards currently qualify for discounted fares. For example, a standard bus fare of MOP 6 is reduced to MOP 3 or MOP 4 for Macao-issued cardholders.
