Another Boeing 737 incident: Landing gear malfunction forces emergency landing in Canada
On Nov. 27, local time, a Boeing 737 aircraft in Canada experienced a landing gear failure, forcing it to divert and make an emergency landing at Montreal's Mirabel Airport. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among passengers or crew members.
According to the Transportation Safety Board (TSB), the plane landed "with one main landing gear up". A photo of the plane posted on social media shows the aircraft on the runway titled on its left side, with the engine resting on the ground.
The flight, numbered NRL 662, departed from Quebec City at 10:50 a.m. and was en route to Wabush Airport in Newfoundland and Labrador. Operated by the charter airline Nolinor, the flight carried 87 passengers and crew. The airline confirmed that all passengers and staff were safe and that emergency responders quickly contained the situation.
An investigation is now underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
