Donald Trump's notorious eating habits—centered around high-calorie fast food and an obsessive love for Diet Coke—have often raised eyebrows. Recently, Gareth Davies, a journalist for the UK's "The Telegraph," took on the challenge of mimicking Trump's diet for one week. The result? A harrowing experience that left Davies dehydrated, fatigued, and 2.6 kilograms (5.7 pounds) lighter.

Reflecting on the ordeal, he exclaimed, "I don't understand how the man (Trump) is still alive!"

Trump's diet has been a frequent topic of discussion, especially after a recent photo surfaced of him aboard his private jet, sharing a McDonald's meal with Elon Musk and incoming Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. In jest, Trump reportedly joked with Kennedy about postponing his mission to "Make America Healthy Again."

Reports suggest that Trump avoids water entirely, drinking up to 12 cans of Diet Coke daily. His breakfast is either skipped or consists of bacon and eggs. He opts for meatloaf sandwiches for lunch, while his dinners often include McDonald's, KFC, pizza, or well-done steak. Trump is known to snack on Doritos and takes supplements daily, including zinc, vitamin D, melatonin, and aspirin.

Kennedy has described Trump's dietary choices as "poison."

UK journalist Davies decided to replicate this diet by skipping breakfast, drinking only Diet Coke, snacking on chips, and relying on fast food for dinner. By the end of the week, he reported extreme thirst and physical discomfort.

"That was the one thing I longed for the most - a simple swig of water," he said, detailing symptoms such as cold hands, peeling skin, reduced urination, and a significant drop in his running performance. He also noted constant nausea from drinking soda on an empty stomach and feeling lethargic after consuming high-calorie meals.

The five-day experiment led to a 2.6-kilogram weight loss, which nutritionists attribute to dehydration caused by the diet. "This diet is certainly not restrictive enough for there to be any significant fat loss over five days. So, the only plausible explanation is dehydration," a nutrition expert explained.

Health professionals have long criticized Trump's eating habits. The World Health Organization has warned about the potential carcinogenic risks of aspartame, a key ingredient in Diet Coke, and excessive consumption of ultra-processed foods is linked to heart disease and chronic illnesses.
