GBA International Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Summit 2024 held today
The GBA International Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Summit 2024 is held today (Nov. 26).
In his opening speech, Professor Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry states that Hong Kong is making efforts to advance the development of the artificial intelligence supercomputing center. To meet the growing demands of research institutions and the industry, the first phase of the supercomputing center will soon be put into operation, with computing power gradually reaching approximately 3000 PFLOPS.
The supercomputing center will become one of the region's large-scale computing facilities. In addition, the previously launched HK$3 billion, three-year artificial intelligence funding program has started accepting applications, aiming to promote AI-driven projects and innovative applications.
Mr. Emil YU Chen-on, Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, notes in his welcoming remarks that for many years, the Productivity Council has been at the forefront of promoting artificial intelligence and robotics technology and has continuously advanced the practical application of technology. Various projects align with the government's efforts to establish the "Hong Kong New Industrialisation Development Alliance". He hopes this summit will foster the development of artificial intelligence and robotics technology, strengthening collaboration within the Greater Bay Area and globally.
This summit brings together top international scholars, industry leaders, and startup pioneers to share cutting-edge technological developments and applications on popular topics such as advanced manufacturing and large language models.
