Kai Tak Sports Park test match expected to attract 3,000 attendees on Saturday

The Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground will host its second test match at 4 p.m. this Saturday (Nov. 16), featuring MEN'S AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2024

The Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground will host its second test match at 4 p.m. this Saturday (Nov. 16), featuring MEN'S AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2024. The authorities expect around 3,000 spectators, with Commissioner for Sports George Tsoi Kin-pan stating that over 2,000 tickets have already been sold, expressing confidence that attendance will reach 3,000.

The main purpose of the event is to test the operational capabilities of the Sports Park. The match will kick off at 4 p.m. and is expected to conclude at around 5:35 p.m. Spectators must purchase tickets in advance, priced at either $50 or $100, as there will be no ticket sales on site.

Attendees are required to experience security checks before entering; umbrellas, beverages, and food are not permitted. If it rains, spectators may bring compact umbrellas. Security checks will begin at 2 p.m. on the same day.

Tsoi mentioned that the feedback from the questionnaire following the first test match was very positive, with attendees expressing an overall favorable impression. The authorities also take suggestions and experiences into account, including increasing the font size of signage. For security arrangements, a "special team" will be deployed to allow spectators without bags or long umbrellas to enter the venue more smoothly, and the number of metal detectors will also be increased.

The government recommends that the public use Exit D of the Song Wong Toi Station to access the Youth Sports Ground, as no drop-off or parking areas for taxis or private cars will be provided. The MTR will arrange backup trains, increase service frequency after the event, and provide special trains to facilitate orderly crowd management.
