Caricature: Biohazard
On Nov. 6, 43 monkeys escaped from a medical research lab in South Carolina, USA, after what is believed to be a failure to secure the enclosure. According to CCTV, as of Nov. 9, local police had only managed to recapture one of the monkeys, while the remaining 42 are still on the loose. Although the lab claims the escaped monkeys do not pose a public health risk, some biologists are concerned that certain monkeys may carry the B virus (herpes B), which could be deadly to humans if contracted.
