TikTok is legally challenging the U.S. government's "sell or ban" legislation, with both sides requesting a ruling by December 6 to ensure there is enough time for the losing party to appeal to the Supreme Court. According to The Washington Post, Donald Trump, who won the recent election, may suspend the implementation of the ban, as he promised during his campaign to overturn the restrictions signed by Biden if he won.

In April, the U.S. Congress passed the "sell or ban" law, which states that if TikTok does not find a non-Chinese buyer by January, it will be prohibited from operating in the U.S. Reports suggest that although Trump has not formally announced his decision, some advisors expect he may intervene in the U.S. government's handling of TikTok if necessary.

However, some TikTok employees are skeptical that Trump will follow through on his promises and think that he may backtrack or provoke allies in Congress who drafted the legislation.
