Survey: Over 60% of respondents satisfied with Policy Address 2024
The Chief Executive, John Lee, announced his third Policy Address during his term, proposing several measures including legislation to regulate subdivided units, support for young people in purchasing subsidized sale flats, and relaxing the maximum loan-to-value ratios of property mortgage loans.
The Hong Kong Public Opinion Research Institute conducted a random telephone survey from October 19 to 28, interviewing 951 Hong Kong citizens aged 18 and above to gauge their opinions on various policy measures.
The survey reveals that over 60% of respondents were satisfied with the Policy Address. Nearly 75% support government assistance for young people in purchasing subsidized sale flats, with support among those aged 18 to 29 reaching about 90%. More than 60% support legislation to regulate subdivided flats and agree with the resumption of the "multiple-entry" Individual Visit Endorsements for Shenzhen residents and expanding the coverage of pilot cities for implementing policies on the "one trip per week" Individual Visit Endorsements.
