US rate decrease lets HK market's opening higher
An overnight rate decrease in the US let Hong Kong stocks jump at the open on Friday (Nov. 8).
The Hang Seng Index gained 246.62 points, or 1.18 percent, to open at 21,199.96.
Earlier, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq powered to fresh records after the Federal Reserve cut interest rates.
The Nasdaq Composite gained 1.51 percent, to 19,269 and the S&P 500 gained 0.74 percent, to 5,973.
