CE arrives in Shanghai to attend opening ceremony of China International Import Expo
The Chief Executive, John Lee, led a delegation of the HKSAR government to Shanghai today (Nov. 4) to attend the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) and Hongqiao International Economic Forum.
On November 5, Lee will attend the opening ceremony of the CIIE and the Hongqiao International Economic Forum and visit the booths of Hong Kong enterprises at the Hong Kong exhibition area to show support.
He will also encourage more Shanghai enterprises to invest in Hong Kong and use Hong Kong as a springboard to explore the international market at the "2024 Hong Kong Investment Promotion Conference - Shanghai Forum" and witness the signing of a number of key cooperation projects between Hong Kong and Shanghai.
During his visit to Shanghai, Lee will meet with leaders of Shanghai to deepen Hong Kong-Shanghai cooperation. He will also exchange views with Hong Kong people and representatives of Hong Kong enterprises in Shanghai.
Lee continued that Hong Kong and Shanghai have a close relationship. In April this year, he and Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng co-chaired the sixth meeting of the Hong Kong/Shanghai cooperation conference, where both sides reached a consensus on the direction of cooperation in 15 areas and signed 20 cooperation documents, which created favorable business conditions and opportunities for enterprises in both places and the fruits of which are now being gradually manifested in different projects.
