The Department of Health has announced that a product named "Tongkat Ali Premix Coffee" contains an undeclared controlled aphrodisiac ingredient "sildenafil" and urged the public not to buy or take it.
Under the law, all pharmaceutical products must be registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong before they can be sold in the market. Now the products have been withdrawn from sale on the online shopping platform HKTVmall.
In reply to an enquiry, HKTVmall said that it had temporarily found one merchant selling the relevant products, and had already removed the products from the store, and will proactively notify customers who had purchased the products, and make discretionary treatment and refunds.
