Eat within 30 minutes: Restaurant's dining limit causes backlash online

A photo circulating online shows a restaurant's notice stating a dining time limit of 30 minutes in Chinese and 40 minutes in English, sparking heated debates among netizens, with many declaring they would not patronize the establishment.

A user posted "Hong Kong tea restaurant gives only 30 minutes to dine," commenting on the extra time given to "Westerners". The posted photo showed the Chinese notice apologizing for any inconvenience due to a 30-minute limit when customers are waiting, while the same notice in English allowed 40 minutes.

The 10-minute difference has outraged many, with comments like "It's like they're telling people not to come", "Knowing English gets you ten more minutes", and "30 minutes is quite difficult". Some sympathize with quick dining during work hours but feel that "Honestly, 30 is too short and dining time should be at least 45 minutes."

Customers who have experienced the policy shared their frustrations and commented "I have tried it, they did 'kick' me out after 30 minutes" and "I had to keep an eye to see how long I could stay."
