 
 
 U.S. aviation giant Boeing has nearly been hit by frequent production aircraft accidents and tens of thousands of large-scale strikes, with a third-quarter loss of up to US$5 billion.
Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said on Oct. 11 (local time) that the company will lay off 17,000 employees, or 10 percent of its global workforce, including senior management, managers and general employees, and will delay delivery of its first 777X aircraft by one year.
