Pricerite's late-night post sparks debate: Farewell or just a thank you?

Last night (Oct. 14), the furniture chain Pricerite unexpectedly posted on social media, "Thank you all for your many years of support," including notices on the shutters of multiple branches stating, "Thank you to the community, today is the last day." This has led to widespread speculation about whether the 38-year-old well-known furniture store in Hong Kong is shutting down all its operations.

Some netizens suspect it might just be a marketing tactic by Pricerite, leaving comments such as "Really?", "Please clarify," and "Is this a joke? Be careful not to go too far..." Others pointed out that Shi Hui had just concluded a yearly rewards" promotion at midnight, believing the post was simply to express gratitude to customers, unrelated to operational issues.
