'Black Myth: Wukong' passes review in Taiwan
China's first AAA game, "Black Myth: Wukong," received approval last Friday evening (Oct. 11) from Taiwan's Digital Game Self-regulation Committee (DGSC). This approval allows Taiwanese console gamers to play the game without switching regions.
Since its global release on Aug. 20, "Black Myth: Wukong" has spread worldwide. Due to regulatory issues, it was not initially available on the Taiwanese PlayStation store, leaving local gamers in eager anticipation.
The Taiwan Entertainment Software Rating Information website currently lists the release date for the three reviewed versions of "Black Myth: Wukong" as Aug. 20. The DGSC clarified that the actual release date should be Oct. 11, the date of approval, and noted that the earlier date was a misprint by the distributor, which the Self-Regulation Committee has requested be corrected.
The Administration for Digital Industries, Moda, stated that the game's distributor, Titan Amusement CO., LTD, submitted the necessary documents on Sept. 5, 9, and 10. Despite inconsistencies in the website registration deadline, the operational statements, and issues with the official website's rating labels needing correction, the distributor was asked to make prompt amendments. The necessary corrections to the documents were completed by Oct. 9, leading to approval on the evening of Oct. 11.
